Tips for perfecting your award submission
1. Understand the judging criteria:
To maximise your chances of success, it’s important to understand the judging criteria and focus on aspects the judges value most. Here's an overview of what the judges will look for:
Candidate centric: How are you putting the candidate at the centre of your strategy or initiative/s?
Innovation: How are you doing things differently, whether it's process, technology, or strategy?
Results: How do you know you are succeeding?
Greater impact: How does this achievement better your organisation, your community, or your candidate experience?
2. Communicate key achievements effectively:
When presenting your key achievements, make sure they’re effectively communicated and linked back to the intention of the strategies or initiatives. Demonstrate how each achievement contributes to a larger picture of success or the story you want to convey and supports your entry for the award. This approach creates a cohesive story that captivates the judges and leaves a lasting impression.
3. Modify content based on award type:
Tailor your content based on the type of award you are entering. Whether it's an individual, team, or initiative award, the focus and emphasis will differ accordingly.
Team award: Highlight how the skills and expertise of your talent team were leveraged to challenge the status quo, or to strive to do things differently and achieve exceptional outcomes.
Initiative award: The emphasis should be on the concept and intention behind the initiative. Demonstrate how this initiative is innovative or different from your usual approach, setting you apart from your competitors or industry peers.
Individual award: Focus on the nominee’s individual contributions and how they positively influenced the team/organisation/strategies and led to significant outcomes.
4. Learn from past finalists and winners:
Watch the success stories of previous finalists and winners better insights into the judging criteria and understand the elements that stood out in their submissions.
